Sunshine Worklog

- Excuse me sir, why is your CD tray open?
"I can't play with it closed."
- Why?
"It cools down the computer."

Sunshine Worklog (this one is VERY sad.)

This man gingerly walks down the stairs.
"Um, when do you close?"
- We never close. We're opened 24/7. We were opened for Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve. (my usual spewl)
"Really. Can I have your card?"
- You can have the store's card. (I handed him a card)
"So you're Shayan?"
- No. Shayan's my boss. I'm Sally.
"Can I call you at this number?"
- You can call Shayan at this number."
"Ok. Well then I'll see you Shayan."

1 hour later.

Phone.

- Sunshine Cybercafe, Sally speaking.
"Hi, is this the internet cafe?"
- That's right.
"Are you open all the time?"
- That's right.
"Are you Sally?"
- I think I said 'Sally speaking.' So yes, I am Sally.
"So Sally, are you originally from Toronto?"
- What does that have to do with anything?
"Um. I'm Sorry. Um. I'll, uh, come later."

Sad.

I'm letting my hair down at work today; it was sticking out in all directions when I had it in an updo, so I gave up on the updo. It's a wonder how long people can know you without knowing how long your hair is.

"Anyone ever told you have have long hair?"
- Sure.
"Really?"
- Anyone ever told you you HAVE eyebrows?

"So do you ever plan to cut that hair?"
- Trim, yes. Cut, no.
"So doesn't it feel weird in the water?"
- I put it up when I go swimming.
"..."
- ...
"..."
- ...
(Give it a few more exchanges)
"What do you do with it in the shower"?
- I put it in a cap.
"They have caps that BIG?"
- Are you going to make more of a fool of yourself or are you going to start heading home with your friends?

Toronto is currently frozen. That's right. Frozen. As in flash-frozen. I wore 3 layers of clothing, with only the bridge of my nose showing above my scarf, and even then I felt as if my whole body was turning into a popsicle. According to the weather network, temperature plus windchill is at -32 celcius. That's enough to freeze your ears off.

It's been a relatively slow week. I might have very big news very soon. Just to get this out of your heads, no, I'm not pregnant or getting married.

Had a concert in Barrie last night. I must have caught the boss' bug of pre-concert panic; I thought my head was going to explode over our lack of recent rehearsals and choreography.

The audience turned out to be amazing. We received a standing ovation (plus one after the encore), and sold all but one of our CDs at the display desk.
